Ahead of Duke's media day this week numerous questions will surround Jon Scheyer and the teams ability for success in March where last years tournament exit crushed not just the team but many of those who support the program. Three straight years where the team has held double digit leads with not so subtle results requires a deeper examination to what has transpired.

What we do know is Jon Scheyer has taken much ownership to the results, to the shortcomings to expectations, but nevertheless has acknowledged it, and hopes to learn from his teams past mishaps. Having the top recruiting classes welcomes some of the criticism, but in March, in a single game elimination format, and being every teams one shining moment, anything can happen.

Inheriting the most polarizing job in all of college basketball after Coach K will come with scrutiny. Moreover, Scheyer's confidence and pedigree is what embodies being the head coach of Duke University which is expectations and accountability.

The question isn't what builds a successful program, but how you perform in March. In Jon's tenure at Duke, he has captured 3 ACC championships, and surpassed an 80 percent win percentage. However, the obvious elephant in the room is a title not being hung since 2015. With this recruiting class, surrounded by veterans that have tournament experience, and heritage of deep runs, this may be the best of what is to come in Durham.
