As expected the ACC joined the power four conferences in banning professional athletes who have formally signed professional contracts in the NBA, WNBA, and NFL.
The board of directors voted unanimously to disallow athletes to return who did not formally withdraw from the professional drafts, professional leagues, in addition to the G-league.

In a statement from the ACC,
The Board's action reflects the ACC's commitment to preserving college sports as an opportunity for college students that is clearly distinct from professional sports, protecting opportunities for current and future student-athletes and promoting competitive equity."
Duke's Manny Diaz agreed during Mondays presser stating,
"I don't blame the players. I don't blame the individual schools because no one's breaking a rule"

Moreover, the SEC went into great depth adding steep suspensions for those who add professional's to their rosters. This includes a half-season suspension alongside commissioner Greg Sankey having been granted the power from the conference to impose additional penalties as needed.
