Duke Freshman Khaman Maluach Declares for NBA Draft

The 7'2 Freshman sensation big man Khaman Maluach declared shorly before midnight his intentions to declare for the 2025 NBA draft. This move came shortly before the midnight deadline where all players with intent to declare had the obligation prior to the 12am deadline.


Duke announced via its team's social media page of Maluach's decision to forgo his sophomore season.

During his freshman campaign the big man averaged 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, including shooting from the field 71.2%. With his early 10 foot standing wingspan, the freshman sensation is expected to hear his name in the lottery during June's NBA draft..


Worth noting, speculation had arose after Duke's loss to Houston in the final four, where state senator Marco Rubio announced revocation of all USA visa passports from Sudanese citizens within the United States. Moreover, Maluach is a South Sudanese citizen holding a United States passport.
