Former Duke Commit & 5 Star To Sign with Miami

After asking for his release last week from Duke University, 5 star wing Shelton Henderson announced Monday his intent to follow former Blue Devils assistant coach Jai Lucas to Miami.

Lucas was hired as the Hurricanes head coach during the Blue Devils post season run. It was rumored the Boozer twins, who follow suit, but they qyickly shot down those allegations with their firm commitment to Jon Scheyer and Duke.

The 21st overall player in the 2025 class helped win a gold medal at the FIBA U18 Americup last year.

Shelton who was expected to fill a void at the small forward position after the departure of Flagg, will bring a unique skillset to Miami, who Henderson brings familiarity to the Canes playing for Jai Lucas fathers AAU basketball team JL3, where Jai help recruit the 5 star.
