The NC State men's basketball program returned from their westcoast trip finishing 0-2, moving to an unprecendented 2-10 in conference play, and on the brink of finishing bottom three of the ACC. The significance of finishing in the bottom tier of the conference disqualifies a team from participating in the conference tournament in Charlotte.
NC State has lost their last 8 games ( longest since 2016-17), 9.5 games back and have been unable to close out contest at home and on the road, where they have yet to win this season.
Head Coach Kevin Keatts has spoken on culture and identity recently, but where does the line being drawn reflect back to the players responding? Are the players being put in the best situation to succeed?
There has been sparks and flashes of promise (at Cameron) for the future but let's be honest, the team has not responded as most expected. Showing promise hasn't equated to wins, and losing 8 straight would have any coach on the chopping block. Nevertheless, getting a team to its first final four in over 4 decades keeps the seat cooler for another off season. The Pack must finish it's last 8 games with prestige, heart, and fight to keep the culture alive in Raleigh.
