Paul McNeil's Game Winner Silences GameCocks in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State men’s basketball sophomore guard Paul McNeil Jr. delivered a game-winning three-pointer with less than a second remaining to lift the Wolfpack to an 88-86 exhibition victory over South Carolina on Sunday night at First Horizon Center formerly known as the Greensboro Coliseum.
McNeil’s decisive basket came moments after the Gamecocks had taken an 86-85 lead on a transition and-one with 11 seconds left. The Wolfpack quickly advanced the ball and executed on the final possession, sealing the dramatic win in front of an energized crowd.

North Carolina transfer big man Ven-Allen Lubin paced four NC State players in double figures, scoring 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Jayden Taylor, Tre Holloman, and Darrion Williams each contributed 16 points for the Wolfpack, while McNeil added nine points—all from beyond the arc.
The Game Cocks were led by Eli Ellis who contributed 23 points with Meechie Johnson tallied 20 points.

After an illustrious offseason with head coach Will Wade making headlines the reflected a persona of pedigree, grit, and tenacity fans from the Triangle, and Triad area got a first glimpse of a promising season in Raleigh.
