The Duke Blue Devils came to Greensboro with one mission and one mindset of which was collecting the ACC title. In order to do so, this would call for the Blue Devils defeating three teams who beat Duke during the regular season. Louisville, Notre Dame, and NC State, who all were favored over the Blue Devils, ended up on the wrong side of the spectrum with Coach Kara Lawson and company making a resounding statement in Greensboro.

How it happened

Duke Sophomore, Oluchi Okananwa and Ashlon Jackson both contributed 22 points to help Duke capture the ACC title over top seed NC State.

Okananwa who came off the bench help catapult the Blue Devils going 8-13 from the field, tenacious defense, floor general instincts, and sharpshooting from distance finishing 3-4 from downtown. With the win Duke captured it's 9th ACC title, and first since 2013. The title gave Coach Kara Lawson her first ACC championship since her arrival at Duke.

The resilience and perserverance from the Blue Devils was astounding as they went down by as many as 14 points in the first half.

Coach Kara Lawson stated post game the Blue Devils gained tremendous experience facing 3 tournament teams that made Duke work with things they struggled with during the season.

Next up for the Blue Devils is Selection Sunday where the Blue Devils are expected to host a first round game inside Cameron Indoor.
