Tar Heels predicted to finish 8th in preseason ACC poll.

The ACC preseason media poll is out. As expected the Clemson Tigers and Miami Hurricanes are the two teams predicted to meet in Charlotte in December for the ACC title. Following the Tigers and Hurricares are SMU, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Duke, Florida State, and the Tar Heels. UNC is predicted to be in the middle of the pack and it shouldn't be too surprising. There was a lot of turnover with their roster and this will be Bill Belichick's first run coaching the college game. The Tar Heels currently aren't even the betting favorites in their first game of the season versus TCU. Coach Belichick will have a stand alone national stage on Labor Day night and all eyes will be on his Heels. With tickets sold out for every home game this season the anticipation is high but the only way to match the hype is with wins on the football field. An October 4th showdown with Clemson, in Chapel Hill, will be a good litmus test to see where the Tar Heels currently are, and how far they have to go to compete for ACC titles and CFP bids. As the calendar switches from July to August the anticipation is only building.
