UNC announces Hubert Davis is extended into 2029-30 Season

Despite it's second rocky season in his four year tenure, UNC has announced that head coach, Hubert Davis, will be extended into the 2029-2030 season. UNC will also add a GM to the basketball staff. The man to lead the program will be Jim Tanner. Tanner is one of the most respected agents in the business. Tanner has represented 70 players in the NBA, including 40 first round picks. Reports are also circulating that Buzz Peterson will also be joining the staff to assist Tanner.

This represents a shift into how the Tar Heels will conduct business moving forward in this new era of basketball. In this NIL era, this new approach is needed, and in my opinion it's a few years later than expected, seeing how some programs adopted this approach early. Increasing NIL collectives and roster building will be top priority for Tanner, Hubert Davis, and this staff. UNC is currently on the bubble with little room for era. Quite frankly, that isn't good enough in Chapel Hill. It will be interesting to see how things get in motion. The hiring of Bill Belichick with the football team has already seen changes and improvements in NIL with the football program, now we will see what the basketball program can do
