All NCAA athletes that competed in the Fall and Winter of 2020 will receive an additional year of eligibility due to Covid-19.

"The pandemic slowed a lot of things down, so this extra year is good because it gives me more time to learn more about the game", said Tyshek Wilson, a sophomore football player at Barton College.

The NCAA council passed an eligibility rule last year in March that allows schools to provide spring-sport student-athletes an additional season of competition and an extension of their period of eligibility according to ncaa.org. The rule applies to all levels of competitions from JUCO to Division I schools.

The Council also increased the roster limit in baseball for student-athletes impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the only spring sport with such a limit according to ncaa.org.
